Types of spherical LED displays

Watermelon rind LED spherical screen

It is composed of a watermelon rind-shaped PCB. The advantage is that the structure is intuitive and there are fewer types of PCBs. The disadvantage is that the north and south poles (that is, north of 45° north latitude and south of 45° south latitude) cannot play images normally, so the picture utilization rate is too low or the image is seriously deformed. The reason is that the pixel points of all image sources are arranged in rows and columns, and the pixel points of the north and south poles of the watermelon peel LED spherical screen are not arranged in rows and columns, but in circles, so it is difficult to display.

Triangular LED spherical screen

The spherical screen composed of flat triangle PCB overcomes the disadvantage that the north and south poles of the watermelon peel spherical screen cannot play images, so the screen utilization rate is greatly improved. The disadvantage is that there are many types of PCBs, and the pixel spacing cannot be too small due to the limitation of the honeycomb arrangement of pixels, and the software writing is also more troublesome.

Six-sided LED spherical screen

The spherical LED display composed of quadrilateral PCB has the advantage that it is closer to the flat LED display, and the minimum point spacing is similar to that of the flat LED display.

LED spherical screen selection

The resolution design of the spherical LED display is the same as that of the conventional LED display, that is, it is related to the viewing distance of the LED display. Generally, if it is viewed from a distance of 2.5 meters, it is recommended to choose the model P2.5 or P2. P6 or P5, of course, if the budget is sufficient, you can also choose a higher-definition P4 or even P3. If it is used for outdoor viewing within 10 meters, you can choose the P10 model. Of course, this is a relatively vague choice, and it is qualitative rather than quantitative, depending on the specific on-site installation environment, audience and budget.
